For this project, I decided to use some of the concepts we utilized in class. I wanted to incorporate the same color scheme as the Sawdust Art Festival webpage, so I found an image of a green paint splatter and placed it behind the main heading. Because there was a lot of required text for the poster, I decided to break it up and put it into different boxes, using the rectangle tool. I played around with various types of strokes, but the most visually appealing one, to me, was the wavy stroke. I also felt that this reminded me of a paintbrush stroke. I used the same color green in the header for the rectangle stroke, using the Eyedropper Tool. My original plan was to use the Type on a Path tool for the date and location to make it look like the cartoon artist was painting it, but I struggled with achieving this goal. I am somewhat new to InDesign, so I wanted to keep the ad simple, but still eye-catching.
